The crime rate in our city is up by more than 30% since last year. As you can imagine, there’s a direct correlation between crime and mental health and substance abuse issues. With the uptick in crime, people desperately need support to manage the stress and anxiety that comes as a result of being exposed to crime. That’s why I’ve decided to partner with Hillcrest Children and Family Center to address these concerns.
We are organizing a series of fundraising and awareness events that are meant to engage our community about crime and the mental health impacts along with raising funds to help with Hillcrest’s supportive programs. Hillcrest has been doing it for 208 years – yeah that’s not a typo, they’ve been embedded in DC working for the people in need since 1815 and now it’s our time to show up for them.
We’d love your sponsorship, but any donation will help progress such a worthy cause.
